Cheikh Ould Semeta better known by his stage name Crowman, born December 31, 1984 in Nouadhibou, Mauritania, is a singer / songwriter / dancer, member of the Shadow Clan. In his childhood he was influenced by the hip-hop culture, as many will be in Mauritania in this period of the late 90s which marks the explosion of Hip-Hop in this sub-Saharan country of Africa.

Very young he grew up under the wing of his cousin a talented dancer of the era who initiated him on the urban dance. More-later in 1994, he formed his first dance group with his childhood friends until 1998 where the Rap/Hip-Hop started to become a very popular music in Mauritania.

In the late 90s, he forms a first rap group with three of his friends, the V.I.C Clan which originally was a dance group. The group will be known through songs like “S.I.D.A, Little Brother, Crime …”. A few years later V.I.C becomes the actual Shadow Clan with The General Illbredman, Madman and Ghostman.

In 2001 Crowman released his first solo single “It’s Going down Now” but will not be followed by any other title and mark the beginning of a long break in the career of the young rapper until 2005, where he recorded again the title “Music” in Dakar where he was following an advanced technician computer training.

At the end of his professional license in 2009, he returned to Mauritania, self-taught in the CAM (Computer Assisted Music) he started to compose music which earned him a meeting with the group Batou Mbede (François, Galérien) and marked the beginning of a long and close collaboration, the fruit of which was a mix of hit titles like the remix of “it’s Going Down” and hits of Mbede Batou as “School of Street”.

In 2011, he returned to Dakar / Senegal after winning a contract with the Ministry of Health before working for a company specialize in application development / Web / Multimedia. Crowman has always had a passion for soul / R & B, one can clearly see his dancing skills, but that passion has always been overshadowed by the duty he owed to his commitments, commitment to advance the socio-political fights in his country through his rap.

In 2015, he released a title in homage of a wrongly imprisoned friend (Senegal) “Freedom” in collaboration with François Batou Mbede. The sad theme, he decided to sing the last two verses. The title meets a huge success and he discovered the tone of his voice that has led to the emergence vied to sing.

Shortly after the release of “Freedom” he decided to switch career from rap to Soul / R & B, marked by the release of his first song “I Wanna Be” which was well received by the public. On a webcast he justifies this career change by the feeling of having passed the torch of claims to the new generation and the need to grow musically in a style that has long fascinated him. Since it out several titles including “Second Chance, No More, She Is, Cry me a river”
